Getting ready for baby

We now have a car seat so we can take baby home from the hospital, and the doctor says if I start labor I'm far enough along they won't stop me:) Exciting and a little nervewracking, the actual due date is Jan 18th. Today we are doing some cookies for our neighbors-some photos of Saki and me and baby Meresiana Lori Vakalala's baby shower gifts from our kind and generous friends and neighbors! We are so blessed!

Dance

At the encouragement of his mission president Saki attended BYU Hawaii after his mission, where he worked at the Polynesian Cultural Center some of his time there to help pay for tuition. He continues to dance at various functions for family and friends, as well as a couple of trips elsewhere, like Washington DC. He is an excellent choreographer and teacher-most recently he taught the achievement day girls in our ward some new moves.

Mission Photos

I served my mission in Kiribati for a year before transfered back to Fiji. I met a lot of members of the church and associated with those of different faiths and I think of these years as a special moment in my life.

Haitus and Christmas Time

Saki gets 4 days off every 4th week so we decided to visit the family cabin. We drove out pretty late and high-centered the car, which was also out of gas, trying to back it in the driveway, I then realized that our cabin key didn't work and we were locked out. Saki wanted to go to a hotel, but we found a spare key and the very kind neighbors tried to tow us out with their truck. After breaking some ropes and a bracket on the car they called AAA and fed us a delicious dinner as we waited! The rest of our stay was lovely. The next two photos are my brother Thomas decorating our little house with Christmas lights while I visited our friend who had her baby that day!. It's pretty, especially now that it's snowed!

Summer 2006

Saki and me visiting Matt and Daniel at BYU, my sisters and cousins at family reunion in WA, Saki and his namesake in MT, Saki and me (about 4 months along) stopping in Yellowstone on our way back from Montana, and our old crown victoria made it the whole way and back!

Our families

Saki is from Fiji and came to the US after serving a mission in Fiji and Kiribati. Here's some photos of his family, my family, and our nephew's and nieces.

Marriage

Saki and I met through his brother Jay, my coworker at Utah State Hospital. I believe Jay was inspired. I've never imagined life could be so blissful or fulfilling! We were sealed at the SLC temple in March 2006.
