little girls

Our little girl hasn't made it to church yet--but we'll start taking her this week (for her baby blessing) and so that will be a new thing for us. It's hard when they're so little and it's sooo cold. I wanted to take a photo of her in my old dress before she grows out of it. So here's me and my mom and Mere and me:)

1st Road Trip

Most of the trip we see sagebrush and snow. Mere slept about 2/3 of the 3-4 hour drive. Sunday after church we went down to Provo to visit uncle Thomas and Moje, then up to Bountiful where we spent the night with the Clawson's (Saki's sister Tima).


Mere met her cousin Brenna for the first time, and here you see Brenna and Tima honoring a Fijian custom that the first time the new baby comes to visit they are held in a masi cloth. It was fun to see Brenna trying to figure out what to think of a baby in her home.

On Monday before returning to Vernal we also visited Grandma Bradshaw in SLC.

Fun with Mere

Here's daddy and baby bouncing on the ball which sure calms her down--thanks to a tip from a friend :) And here's baby in her borrowed little bear suit which is finally starting to fit her--it swallowed her up at first. . .

Helping with laundry

I look forward to when Mere will help with laundry, dishes, and her siblings:) But she does help me keep busy while Saki works his long hours!

Lazy Days

Well, Mere is now two months old, so she sleeps longer and is awake more--she smiles and coos and holds her head up very well. She squirms and wiggles a lot like her dad. She went through a couple weeks of crying every evening no matter what we did, but I tried some things I learned in from "Happiest Baby on the Block" and have also not drunk milk for a couple weeks and she seems to be doing so much better. She has been sleeping in her swing, which she likes-she's not a big fan of laying flat on her back or on her stomach, though when she's alert, happy, and full, she does "little push-ups" on her tummy. Saki and I love her smiles and conversations! Here's a photo at 2 months and a photo at two weeks. . .
